About Beas Kund:
Beas Kund is a high-altitude thousand-year-old alpine lake that sits royally amidst the mountains of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 3,810 meters. This taint less beauty is the origin of Beas River, which is believed to be the water body where Sage Vyas use to take bath while he meditated and wrote Hindu epic Mahabharata.
About the Trek:
Lush green grasslands flourish below the summits of the three biggest mountains around Manali and hidden in these grasslands is the emerald lake. The contrasting sight of this serene water body nestled in between jagged mountain peaks of Pir Panjal range adds to the beauty of the lake and that makes it an amazingly picturesque travel destination and an even better summer trek, to rewind and rejuvenate amidst nature. Your camping experience at the campsite of Bakarthach, under the star-studded sky, will be an experience worth remembering.

How to reach?
You have to report at Solang Valley which is the starting point of the trek and it is around 12 km from Mall Road of Manali. Many local means of transport and private cabs are available from Mall Road to reach Old Manali.
Solang Valley to Dhundi (8kms in 4 hours): You will arrive in Solang Valley and meet the guide at about 10:00 AM, The trek to Dhundi begins on the first day, carrying with you your packed lunch and dinner. At the end of the trek, you would have arrived in Dhundi, which is a beautiful spot with the river Beas flowing right beside it. Dhundi is also famous for an unbeatable view of the Hanuman Tibba, You will pitch your camps and enjoy a night of camping here.
Dhundi – Beas Kund- Bakartach- Dhundi (12 kms and 8 to 10 hours): The second day is when your trek to Beas Kund begins with a trek to Bakartach after breakfast. You will be carrying the meals for the day with you, packed. The climb to Bakartach is a little strenuous yet rewarding at the same time. The campsite here is beautiful, beside the river and one of the best experiences ever. You will notice the scenery changing around you as the vegetation keeps getting sparse and you can see the glacier from a distance. After about walking for 4 hours, you will arrive at the Beas Kund, a lake with strikingly blue waters surrounded by high mountains and on occasion, purple wildflowers. After spending a short while on the bank of the lake and taking pictures here, you will trek back down to the campsite in Dhundi
Dhundi To Solang Valley: This morning after breakfast, you will trek your way back to the Solang Valley to bring your trip to an end. Once at Solang Valley, you can choose to take a bus or a shared taxi back to Manali, or can participate in any of the activities here on your own.
